Fun Facts About National FFA Week February 17-24

National FFA Week began in 1948. It always runs the Saturday through Sunday of the week that includes George Washington's birthday on February 22. The reason for this is because he is recognized as an agriculturalist and farmer.

More fun facts:

FFA was founded in 1928.

Nebraska FFA was the sixth state to charter in 1928.

Over 8,000 members are in FFA in Nebraska.

Nebraska has seven FFA state officers elected each year.

Over 4,000 FFA members are expected to attend Nebraska State FFA Convention April 4-6 in Lincoln.

Nebraska has 185 FFA chapters.

FFA chapters across Nebraska are celebrating National FFA Week by hosting donor lunches, farmer olympics, wearing blue on National Blue Day, talking to the elementary school about FFA, having a coloring contest for younger students to participate in, collecting food for a local food pantry, wearing their FFA shirts to school and so much more.
