Midwest Farmers Cooperative donates to local FFA chapter grants

Midwest Farmers Cooperative has donated $23,000 to the Nebraska FFA Foundation to directly support local FFA chapter needs. Ten FFA chapters received a grant including Waverly, Nebraska City, Ashland– Greenwood, Syracuse, Conestoga, Palmyra/Elmwood– Murdock, Crete, Auburn, Freeman and Lincoln Public Schools The Career Academy for Ag Biology/Science Program.  

Here is a summary of all of the grants funded through Midwest Farmers Cooperative:

·      Nebraska City: $3,000 for grow towers

·      Syracuse: $2,800 for chrome books for the classroom for record-keeping

·      Freeman: $2,600 for Strengths Finder Assessment

·      Auburn: $2,500 for animal learning kits for cattle, dogs, goats and rabbits

·      Conestoga: $2,200 for goat animal lab

·      Palmyra: $1,700 for tower garden, animal science learning lab kit and support leadership experiences to attend National FFA Convention

·      Ashland-Greenwood: $1,600 for composting project

·      Crete: $1,300 to purchase metal to build new welding tables

·      Waverly: $1,100 for TIG welder and supplies

·      The Career Academy: $750 to purchase a food quality microwave, dehydrator and vacuum sealer for food science class

Midwest Farmers Cooperative Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Wilhelm said, “We are proud to support these chapters and the young men and women that have an interest in agriculture. It is a small way that we can give back to the communities that support Midwest Farmers Cooperative and a way to support the future of agriculture.”
